Changing a negative thought into a positive isn’t the easiest thing to do. However, seeing the positive helps you not only open to change, but it actually helps you welcome in the very things you’re wanting in your life. If you’re focused on their absence from your life, you can bet that’s what you’re creating. After all, the Law of Attraction brings you what you focus on… so, get a little positive!
Create a positive affirmation and have it work for you in these four steps:
1. Write a list of the things in your life you wish were different or that you wish you had in your life. For example, ‘I don’t have enough money’ or ‘I wish I had a new/better job.’
2. Now look at what it is you really want. Take this desire one step further, to how it will make you feel. For example, it’s not the lack of money or a more perfect job as much as it is the security of having more money or that you want to be working in a more meaningful and satisfying role. Re-write the list with what you really want.
3. Take this one step further, rephrasing what you want for the future as if you already have it now. For example, ‘I have all the money I need right now’ or ‘money comes to me easily and I am always financially secure’. Or on the job front, what about: ‘my job gives me meaning and fulfillment and I welcome new ways of feeling meaning and fulfillment’ or perhaps ‘I welcome into my life a new, meaningful position in a company which recognises the value I add.’ This step helps you feel that way NOW, not just ‘one day’.
4. Repeat these new positive affirmations over and over – until you start to believe them, rather than the negative mantras you’ve had on constant replay up until now. You might want to write them out, or pop them somewhere you’ll see them often to remind you to repeat them.
Soon, you’ll start to notice you feel better about what’s in front of you and the things you didn’t have will automatically begin drawing towards you.
