Best foods for clean energy and spirit communication

As the saying goes, you are what you eat. What you eat can have an effect on your energy – and not just your physical energy.

Spirit communication and psychic energy work can work better on a vegetarian diet. Similarly, reducing alcohol and caffeine intake can also improve the connection. At the beginning of my own journey, I questioned this – after all, I’d experienced spirit communication and still had these items in my diet, frequently. While a better diet can improve the communication, it’s not a prerequisite.

Think a moment about this idea:

Everything is made up of energy. So the food you eat is also made up of energy. What kind of energy are you consuming? Is this enhancing or limiting your own energy and how does it affect your ability to connect with others’ energy?

Around the same time I was thinking about changing my diet, I first came across Kathy Freston, an advocate for healthy, conscious eating. I ‘accidentally’ stumbled across an interview she gave a few years ago where she described leaning into a change, such as becoming vegan or vegetarian. (She has just recently released a book called The Lean which takes this concept further). This idea of leaning into a change one step at a time seemed to make more sense to me.

The more you fill your body up with ‘pure’, healthy and natural products, the more ‘clean’ you keep your body and psychic energy. There is a whole discussion around the karma of eating animals and animal products, as well as the way your food has been produced (farmer to the plate)… but perhaps I’ll save this for another day, another blog post.

Do you find your spiritual energy, not just your physical energy is impacted by what you eat?

Our first month with Little Miss

Everyone said it, and it’s true: this first month has gone by so fast. You and I have been learning so much about each other and, in this sleepless fog, I wonder if I’m actually learning fast enough? Am I doing a good job? You, on the other hand, are a quick learner and for someone so new in the world, you’re doing remarkably well at getting the hang of it here.

Your much anticipated (and rather drawn out) arrival into the world taught me a great deal too: to be patient; to relax and go with where the journey takes me; to focus on what really matters. And all that matters now is that you are here, safe, happy and healthy. (And we think you’re incredibly adorable!).

For now you don’t want for much – eat, sleep, nappy change and a bit of a cuddle. Although your needs are simple, I’m left frantically running to keep up with your schedule. The temptation is to over think every parenting action, every parenting decision but somehow you remind me to let go. I’m not in control. Relax. Breathe.

Perhaps most importantly, you are teaching me about unconditional love. And I am falling more and more in love with you each and every day, little girl, which leaves me excited for what the next month brings.

*Edit: Although I wrote this when Little Miss was one month old, she is now just a week shy of two months. I guess I’m also learning things run on a new time frame!
